Ever since me and my best friend wrote a musical for our high school National History Day competition, I’ve been in love with new work. In the years since then, I’ve worked with The 24 Hour Plays, Improv Playhouse, American Music Theatre Project, and the Agnes Nixon Playwriting Festival as a playwright, lyricist, and dramaturg. While at school, I received a Summer Undergraduate Research Grant to complete my play The Protocol of Grace and Reconciliation through Separation, a bluegrass-infused love letter to queer Methodists. In the fall of 2023, I received my first ever commission to write an interactive TYA adaptation of The Little Prince, which went on a Chicagoland school tour with Improv Playhouse – coming back this season! And this summer, I’m so proud to have been selected as a playwright for The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals 2024, where I wrote a space cowboy musical in 24 hours with composer Kevin Park.
