HE WAS A SK8R BOI! SHE SAID SEE YOU LATER BOI!
Music to your ears? Lucky you! You get to be alive during the premiere of The Best Damn Thing by Hanna Kime, an intimate and explosive new play inspired by the early discography of Avril Lavigne. To say I cannot WAIT to be a part of this show as Rachel (u/s) is an understatement – my 13-year-old self is screaming right now. With insane music by Sara Geist, incredible direction by Grace Dolezal-Ng, and the best performance space in the world at The Understudy Coffee and Books… trust me, you won’t know what hit you. Come see me and Jordan Levene rock out at our understudy performance on January 30th! AAAH!!!

This summer, I received my very first playwriting commission from Improv Playhouse! I’m thrilled to be adapting Antoine de Saint-Exúpery’s The Little Prince, a story chock full of talking flowers, magical flight, difficult goodbyes, and all the things I love about theatre for young audiences. My brand new, interactive, one-hour adaptation will be heading out on tour to schools and libraries in the Chicagoland area (including my workplace!) from November 2023 to March 2024, directed by the stellar Ellie Levine.

Next up I’ll be working on The Women Who Discovered How to Measure the Universe, a new play going up at Raven Theatre in June and July! I am so thrilled to be joining the cast as Cecelia, an astronomer in the group of women who worked in the Harvard Observatory at the turn of the century. This beautiful story is scored with stunning movement and new music – don’t miss it!

This spring I’ll be performing in Alice in Wonderland as part of the Berger Park Playhouse’s Alice Gerstenberg festival! Ensemble-based and devised, our take on Alice is chaotic and playful – I play everything from Lewis Carroll to Tweedledum.

This past summer I had the privilege to sing on my first ever cast album, Abandon All Hope: A Musical Comedy by Samuel Perlman and Mitchell Huntley, which just dropped on Spotify! Listen to me sing as Lucy, hell’s stage manager, on “The Rules of Running Hell”, “Demon on Your Shoulder”, and more – all right here.

I’m so excited to make my Chicago TYA debut in Monologue Mixtapes, an Improv Playhouse touring production! Directed by Rebecca Schilsky, our spectacular ensemble will be making our way to a school near you to bring kid-written monologues to life.

Starting this fall, I’m working on teen programming and tech help as a Library Assistant at the Evanston Public Library! Stop by the teen loft or the tech desk to say hi – my passion for reading is second only to my passion for theatre, so I have LOTS of book recs to share.

This summer I flew to New York for a week to participate in The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals as a playwright! The program is an early-career theatre artist intensive where 6 playwrights, 1 composer, 6 directors, 6 stage managers, 6 designers, 3 producers, and 24 actors come together to make an incredible night of new work in just 24 hours. I collaborated with composer Kevin Park to write Max Loves the Moon, a sweetly earnest mini musical about a poet trying to get to space, and it went up at Classic Stage Company! Did someone say off-Broadway playwriting debut…? I’m so grateful for my incredible cohort, the guest artists who delivered masterclasses and workshops galore, and of course the brilliant team who makes it happen every year. Learn more here – and if you’re eligible, apply apply apply for next summer!

I’m so so proud to graduate from Northwestern with a B.A. in Theatre and a Playwriting Module! During my time at NU I acted in over a dozen of productions, the majority of which were new work. I was a proud member of the Northwestern Undertones, where I sang mezzo as well as joined the exec board as president, treasurer, and business manager; I also acted as executive director and literary manager for Spectrum Theatre Company, a student-run board dedicated to producing theatre for social change.
I can’t wait to start working as an actor and writer in Chicago!
